Refund & Cancellation Policy
Oratora sells two different things — a one-time pass for a single event, and a recurring Pro subscription. They cancel and refund differently, so this policy treats them separately.

1. Scope
This policy covers purchases made from registered entity name through the Oratora website. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.
Payments are processed by Razorpay. Refunds are always returned to the original payment method — we cannot redirect a refund elsewhere.
A refund is issued in the currency you were charged in (₹ or $), for the amount charged. Where your bank applied a conversion rate or a cross-border fee, the amount you receive back in your own currency may differ from what you originally paid; that difference is set by your bank, not by us.
2. Single-event passes
A pass is a one-time purchase that unlocks one event window of pass validity window.
- Before the pass is used — full refund if you request it within refund window, e.g. 7 days of purchase and the pass window has not started.
- Once the event window has started — the pass is treated as consumed and is non-refundable / refundable pro rata, because the capacity for your event has been reserved.
- If we could not deliver — if a verified fault on our side stopped your event from running, we will refund the pass in full or issue a replacement, whichever you prefer. Tell us within claim window of the event.
Passes do not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. An unused pass simply expires at the end of its window.
3. Pro subscriptions
- Cancel any time — from Billing in your dashboard. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep Pro features until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Part-used periods — not refunded / refunded pro rata.
- Accidental renewal — if you are charged for a renewal you did not intend and tell us within window, e.g. 7 days before running an event on that period, we will refund it.
- Annual plans — state your annual-plan rule.
4. Free plan
The free plan costs nothing and can be stopped at any time by closing your account. There is nothing to refund.
5. How to request a refund
Email billing@yourdomain from the address on the account, with the order or payment reference and a short note on what happened. You can also use our contact form.
We aim to acknowledge within response time, e.g. 2 business days and to decide within decision time. Approved refunds are submitted to Razorpay immediately; the money typically reaches your account in settlement time, e.g. 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
6. When we may decline
We may decline a refund where:
- the event window has been used substantially as intended;
- the account was suspended for breach of the Terms of Service;
- the request falls outside the windows above;
- we have reasonable grounds to suspect fraud or abuse.
This policy does not affect statutory rights you may have under consumer law in your country.
7. Disputes and chargebacks
Please contact us before raising a chargeback — most issues are faster to fix directly. If you do raise one, we may suspend the account while the dispute is open.
Unresolved complaints can be escalated to our grievance officer, officer name, at grievance@yourdomain.
